[A] Scope of Service:
1) The Department currently generates approximately $24 million in professional charges with $3 million in net collections done by an outside billing agency.
2) The successful bidder will Work with the Department as necessary for the purpose of providing billing and collection services.
3) Obtain all demographic and clinical information required for appropriate billing from hospital and physician records provided to the Contractor. Contractor shall be responsible for providing an electronic interface to the existing SMS or IDX Financial Systems, to obtain the demographics information needed for patient registration.
4) Obtain, maintain and update all the faculty profiles as needed for billing.
5) Provide oversight services for coding of both CPT-4 and ICD-9 codes
6) Enter all charges and demographic information from all sites of services into the Contractor’s billing and collection system
7) All services must be billed without regard to monetary amount.
8) Establish a collection policy which includes a min of an initial bill to a responsible party or insurance company and two (2) follow up statements prior to a referral to a collection company.
9) Generate insurance claim forms for billing to responsible parties.
10) Maintain accounting of all charges entered into the Contractor’s billing and collection system.
11) Contractor must supply monthly, quarterly and yearly summaries of all account activity reports including total amount billed, received and adjusted for LSU and outreach patient charges.
[B] Work Performance:
Performance of the work will be Offsite. Vendor needs to carry work in their office location.
